Caution when calling Port-Au-Prince, Haiti

From our correspondent:

Dear Sirs,

We regret to inform you that the civil unrest and political instability in Haiti continues. As such, given the protests, safety remains a concern in the areas around the outside of the port of Port-Au-Prince and throughout the city.

Please be advised that we are have been in contact with one of the ship agents in Haiti in order to render survey services at Port-Au-Prince, however as per the information provided by said agent, shore passes are not being issued in order for inspectors to access the port.

Given the current situation, we recommend that you advise your different members to exercise caution when calling at Port-Au-Prince and to keep said information at mind when negotiating fixtures towards said port.

As customary, we will keep you further advised regarding this situation.

Best regards,

Leticia Oeckel
