New features added to TELP presented in the latest Loss Prevention webinar

Göteborg:

After launching the Trade Enabling Loss Prevention (TELP) initiative last year, The Swedish Club added new features to enhance the system and provide a more efficient, up-to-date service. The added features were the highlight of the latest Loss Prevention webinar held on 6 May 2021.

New types of advice and alerts

Ellinor Borén, Claims and Loss Prevention Controller explained how the whole TELP system works using modern technology. She also presented the different types of advice and alerts sent to our members to assist their vessels heading for areas of particular risks.

New Bunker alert

Senior Technical Advisor, Peter Stålberg, talked about problems with bunkers which is an ongoing issue and highlighted expensive machinery claims as a result of damaged machinery parts due to bad bunkers. To assist its members with the bunker issue, The Swedish Club launched the additional TELP feature, the bunker alert.

This added feature is in cooperation with VPS, one of the biggest bunker laboratories globally, with the capacity to analyse large bunker samples daily from ports all around the globe. After analysing a large number of sampling data, they can then identify problems from a specific port and issue a bunker alert with straight forward advice. The bunker alert is then programmed in the TELP system and distributed to members with vessels heading to the particular port with bunker issues.

A short Q&A followed, which was moderated by Lorraine Hager, Loss Prevention and Marketing Advisor. The webinar is part of the series of webinars hosted by the Loss Prevention department.
