War Risk Insurance 2019 – Notice of Cancellation
29 July – Reference is made to the War Risk Circular H&M 420/2018 and 421/2019 with the terms for War Risk Insurance in place for existing War Risk Members. The Association hereby gives notice of cancellation as per relevant Notice of Cancellation Clause for List of Areas of Perceived Enhanced Risk (“Listed Areas”) with effect from 00:01 hours GMT 29 July 2019.

29 July – Reference is made to Circular War Risk Insurance Terms 2019 (H&M 420/2018) dated 3 December 2018 with the terms for War Risk Insurance for 2019 for War Risk Members. The Association hereby gives notice of cancellation as per relevant Clause W.1.3 Notice of Cancellation Automatic Termination of cover War, Nuclear etc. and Cyber attack exclusion clause with effect from 00:01 hours GMT 8 August 2019.

Ebola outbreak and shipping
Ebola24  July – WHO Director-General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus declared on 17 July, 2019 that the Ebola virus disease (EVD) outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) is a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC), reversing his previous position as declared on 14 June, 2019.

Increased tension in the Persian Gulf Area
29 July – The Association wishes to inform its members currently covered for War insurances that with effect from 29 July 2019, the rate for any call to the Persian Gulf area (Persian or Arabian Gulf and adjacent waters including the Gulf of Oman west of Longitude 58° E) has been increased from 0,25% to 0,5%.

MSS Case August – Containers lost in heavy weather
31 July – In the August Monthly Safety Scenario (MSS) containers collaps and fall into the empty bays due to stiff vessel sailing through heavy weather and unlocked twist locks.
