US government sanctions companies trading with Venezuelan oil

Göteborg:

On 5 April 2019 the US State department advised they have sanctioned two companies operating in the Venezuelan oil sector.

It seems the US government strictly impose sanctions on any activity that is perceived to support the former Maduro regime not only against US persons but also against non-US persons. The Venezuelan oil sector plays a major role in such activities.

Members are recommended not to have any involvement in that sector, in particular in relation to shipments of Venezuelan petroleum products to Cuba. For further information about US sanctions against Venezuela see Sanctions.
