Bios for new management

Fredrik Bergqvist
Fredrik Bergqvist serves as Area Manager for Team Sweden at The Swedish Club, where he leads member engagement, underwriting, and claims services for the Swedish market. With over a decade at The Swedish Club, he has built deep expertise in marine insurance, progressing from senior claims handling to underwriting and management.
Before joining the Club in 2012, Fredrik worked at sea for several years in senior deck officer roles. His seagoing experience as Chief Officer and First Officer gives him a real-life understanding of the challenges shipowners and operators face, which he applies expertly to his work in marine insurance.
Fredrik holds a Bachelor in Nautical Science and Master Mariner certification from the Kalmar Merchant Marine Academy. He is passionate about fostering collaboration and innovation within the maritime community and is dedicated to supporting shipowners with tailored risk solutions and trusted claims expertise.


Pauline Hermansson
Pauline Hermansson is a seasoned business strategist and board member with over 20 years’ experience driving growth, transformation, and innovation across the financial services, telecom, and consulting sectors. Currently serving on the board of Varbergs Sparbank and running Pivogo Consulting AB, she advises companies on strategy, business development, and innovation, with a track record in guiding ownership transitions, building new services, and developing sustainable business models.
Previous leadership roles include Head of Strategy and Innovation and Senior Strategist at Riverty Group where Pauline managed Nordic and European strategy, business planning, and M&A initiatives. Earlier, at Gothia Financial Group, she held senior positions in business development and operations, and at Telia International Carrier managed global accounts and product development in the US and Europe.
With deep expertise in strategy execution, product and service innovation, and cross-market business development, Pauline brings a proven ability to align strategic vision with operational results.


Caroline Pennings
Caroline Pennings is a senior communications and marketing leader with more than 25 years’ international experience leading corporate affairs, investor relations and strategic communications. She currently serves as interim Head of Marketing and Communications at The Swedish Club, overseeing brand, stakeholder engagement and global reputation.
Previous leadership roles include Managing Director of International Communications at FedEx where she led a team of 60 focused on communications, sustainability and risk across 37 countries; as a senior leader at Shell where she shaped and led global integration strategies together with top leadership during the merger with British Gas; and at LeasePlan as Chief Communications Officer. In global technology and banking and financial services giants, she also brings a strong track record of helping boards and C-suites navigate IPOs, leveraged buy-outs and major restructuring.
With a foundation as a journalist in Europe, Asia and North America, Caroline brings deep expertise and a passion for strategic storytelling and safeguarding trust.
