Seafarer Wellbeing
At The Swedish Club, we recognise that the wellbeing of a seafarer begins long before they step on board. It starts at home. That’s why our Check Your Pulse initiative begins with the family. We offer practical, hands-on guides and materials designed to support the loved ones who stand behind every seafarer. When families feel informed, included, and empowered, seafarers gain peace of mind. This creates safer, more focused, and more connected vessels.
Here, you’ll find all our Check Your Pulse resources, developed to promote psychological safety, nurture a supportive onboard culture, and strengthen the human connections that keep our industry moving.
Family Support

Our Family and the Sea – Family Guide
This Family Guide was created together with Mental Health Support Solutions to help bridge the distance between ship and shore. It offers insights into the seafaring life and practical tips for staying connected, so that both crew and their families feel informed, supported, and united no matter how many miles are in between.

Our Family and the Sea – Children’s Book
Our Family and the Sea is a heartwarming children’s book that helps young readers understand and embrace the life of having a loved one at sea. Created to support seafaring families, the story gently explores themes of connection, distance, and love, reminding every child that no matter how far the ocean stretches, family bonds remain strong. This book is part of The Swedish Club’s Check Your Pulse initiative, supporting wellbeing through inclusion, empathy, and storytelling.
