The Maritime Institute “Willem Barentsz” (MIWB) is located on the island of Terschelling in the Netherlands. The institute’s history dates back to 1875 and MIWB is today one of the leading nautical colleges in the Netherlands.

MIWB specialises in “dual purpose” training in which the student, upon graduation followed by the required sea time and experience, will eventually be awarded a management level certificate, allowing them to sail as masters or chief engineers. The updated MRM course will be ideal for MIWB’s Maritime Officer students, and for their external clients.

MIWB also operates the Maritime Simulator Training Center, which provides training for some 1,000 own students and external trainees annually.

MIWB is beautifully located on the island of Terschelling.
