Meet Mayte Medina, Chief of Office of Merchant Mariner Credential, Commercial Regulations and Standards Directorate, Assistant Commandant for Prevention Policy at the U.S. Coast Guard.


She is also Chair of the IMO HTW Sub-committee, (Human Element, Training and Watchkeeping) who is representing the U.S . Coast Guard at the International Maritime Organization, IMO.

Mayte fulfilled her childhood dream, when becoming a Panama Canal Pilot, working for the Panama Administration after she graduated from Kings Point. Mayte has been working in the development and implementation of domestic and international maritime safety, security and environmental protection standards since 1990.
