Lennart Simonsson, Managing Director of Broström AB, was elected Chairman of The Swedish Club on June 14th. He succeeds Christer B. Olsson, of Wallenius Lines.

Mr Simonsson has been a member of The Swedish Club’s Board since 1998. Broström is a long-standing member of The Swedish Club, with a number of vessels entered for P&I. Lennart Simonsson, who recently completed a two-year term as Chairman of the European Community Shipowners’ Association, joined Broströms in 1982 and has held a number of senior positions within the Broström Group.

Christer B. Olsson will continue to serve as a member of The Swedish Club’s Board. In addition, Gustaf Grönberg, Star Cruises’ Senior Vice-President, Marine Operations, was elected to the Board.
