The Swedish Club is a leading marine mutual insurer, headquartered in Göteborg, Sweden, with overseas offices in Hong Kong, Piraeus, and Tokyo. The Swedish Club was established in 1872 and today we employ about 100 staff members. We offer Hull & Machinery, P&I, FD&D, War risk and Loss of Hire insurance plus various ancillary covers. The Club is a member of the International Group of P&I Clubs.
We now need to add one claims executive to our team in Hong Kong and therefore look for a:

Work description and areas of responsibility
Your job is to independently investigate, handle and settle claims relating primarily to FD&D insurance but also, to some extent, to P&I insurance. In addition you will provide members with assistance and advice in legal and insurance matters. The job requires some travelling for the purpose of meeting with members, brokers, lawyers and other parties in claims related matters.
Education and experience
You hold a law degree and are preferably qualified as a solicitor or a barrister. You have at least three years’ working experience from practicing maritime law with a law firm, P&I Club or a shipping company. Fluency in English is a requirement. Good command of Chinese is an advantage.
Personal qualities
We are looking for a person with a pro-active and service minded work style. You must have good analytical skills and apply logical thinking. The successful candidate will have a friendly and open disposition and be capable of developing and maintaining professional, long-term relationships with our members.
