Our operation is divided into four teams, located in Gothenburg, Piraeus, Hong Kong and Oslo. We are now expanding in the Norwegian market and need to strengthen our team in Oslo. We are looking for an experienced claims handler who is keen to join us in this exciting task. The team is in a strong development phase so we think this is an opportunity for you who want to be part of and contribute to something new and challenging.

Work Description
You are responsible for the handling of P&I and H&M claims and for providing advice to our members. In your claims role you will also assist in our marketing activities. The working tasks include:

• Handling all sorts of P&I and H&M claims as required including:

o Investigating claims and assessing proper reserves
o Instructing surveyors, correspondents, experts and lawyers
o Determining insurance cover
o Evaluating the merits of each case
o Conducting negotiations
o Approval and payment of claims/fees

• Providing advice in relation to the P&I Insurance to members
• Making presentations and writing articles for the Club’s publications
• Train junior staff

The job involves some travelling and extensive interaction with shipowners, managers and insurance brokers in the team’s markets.

Place of work
The place of work is our representative office in Tjuvholmen in Oslo and you report to the Area Manager for Team Norway.

Qualifications
We are looking for candidates with a solid background in P&I claims handling and preferably some experience from Hull & Machinery (Marine) claims. Familiarity with claims in the OSV and gas segment is an advantage. We believe that your educational background is in Maritime/Petroleum Law or Nautical Science. You also have to be fluent in English orally and in writing.
