
Claims Manager FD&D – Team Piraeus, Greece
Our operation is divided into three teams, one located in Gothenburg, one in Piraeus and one in Hong Kong. Each team is responsible for members within a certain geographical area and has all necessary resources to deliver high quality services in relation to all classes of insurance offered by the Club. Team Piraeus is responsible for the Club’s business in Greece, Italy, Cyprus and the Middle-East.

Work Description
As an FD&D Claims Manager you are responsible for the handling of FD&D claims in Team Piraeus. You report to the Head of Claims. The working tasks include:
• Handling all sorts of FD&D claims including conducting and attending arbitration or litigation proceedings including drafting of claims submissions
• Handling occasional P&I cases
• Responsible for training and guiding colleague claims handlers in FD&D claims
• Providing legal advice to members
• Writing articles for the Club’s publications
• Participating in and organizing seminars
• Travel to attend legal proceedings or to assist and meet with members
• Assisting the Area Manager in developing and marketing the FD&D class in the team’s markets
The job involves travelling and close communication with shipowners and Ship managers in the market.

Qualifications
This position is offered to you who have a law degree and at least seven years working experience from practicing maritime law with a law firm or a P&I Club. Preferably, you are a qualified solicitor or barrister and you have solid experience from charterparty disputes and arbitrations. You have to be fluent in English. The job also requires excellent social and cultural skills and a pro-active work style.
