MAS seminar in Hamburg
On November 6th, The Swedish Club Academy hosted an open seminar on our new service, the Mariner Attitude Survey (MAS), in Hamburg. It was (rather appropriately) held in the Maritime Reichshof Hotel in the city centre. The Academy team was warmly welcomed by the Hamburg shipping community with respresentatives from 16 different shipping companies and crewing institutions attending the event.
The seminar’s aim was to promote the survey which gives companies an insight into how national, professional and organizational cultures influence the attitudes and the behaviours of people. Knowing the attitudes and perceptions of the mariners is very important in order to be familiarized with their behaviours so that appropriate measures can be taken earlier by shipping companies. It was a good opportunity for the shipping companies and crewing institutions to get a better understanding of the survey and also for them to gain insight into the functionality of the survey and its benchmarking opportunities.
The presentation was well received from the local companies and was concluded with a round of questions and anwers chaired by The Swedish Club Academy’s Managing Director, Martin Hernqvist. With such a positive response, there will surely be many more MAS seminars in the coming months.
