Ports situation – Yemen
GAC Yemen Ltd, in Aden has provided us with the following information:
Quote
We receive repeated inquiries on ports’ situation in Yemen. Unfortunately, situation did not change since last March 2015 when Houthi rebels invaded Aden, the capital city of former South Yemen. Aden remains a battlefield where fighting continues between the Houthi rebels and local resistance. No ships called at the port of Aden since Houthi rebels invaded the city. Some aid ships and wooden dhows berthed at the Aden Refinery oil harbour. However, this is now stopped because Houthi rebels targeted the Aden Refinery oil harbour with Katyusha rockets sparking a large fire in the oil tanks and harbour piping system.
Other Yemeni ports remain operational. Ships may call after being cleared by the Coalition navy.
