The traditional Santa Lucia dinner is the year’s highlight

In the warm and friendly atmosphere of the Yacht Club of Greece, The Swedish Club Piraeus once again opened the festive season to our Members, with the traditional Santa Lucia and the Scandinavian Church girls’ choir.

Following the tradition, they welcomed our guests and sang Christmas carols under the expert supervision of choir mistress Kicki and her husband, the Reverend Gunnar Lidén. Unfortunately for us, Reverend Lidén and Kicki will be moving back to Sweden after spending six years in Greece. “However, the Club’s Lucia Tradition is as much a part of the Scandinavian Church as is it for us, so the Choir will continue to sing for us as long as we celebrate Lucia,” said Kicki.
Many Members honoured us with their presence, and as they noted, this particular event is the most well-attended event in Piraeus, with more than 170 guests joining us, to start preparing for Christmas and the New Year.

We take this opportunity to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year, and as we say in Greece – Chronia Polla kai Kales Giortes!
