The Swedish Club Marine Insurance Course (MIC) delivered to your door.
This year The Swedish Club will be offering its popular Marine Insurance Course to more members and business partners around the world with MIC Online. Every year the course has been oversubscribed. For 2021, the Club has created a tailored digital event featuring the same expert speakers, individual support and workshop sessions, but now delivered online.
The course will be open for registration from mid-March 2021.
The Marine Insurance Course (MIC) covers the important aspects of marine insurance, ranging from terms and conditions to the practical handling of claims.
The focus is on the three major types of marine insurance:
- Protection & Indemnity (P&I)
- Hull & Machinery (H&M)
- Freight Demurrage & Defence (FD&D)
The new course has three elements:
1. Portfolio of presentations and study materials
Top speakers provide an introduction to marine insurance and explore the various elements in detail. Once the course begins, our delegates have four weeks to access and explore the presentations and the familiarisation material in each module, in their own time, before plenary sessions, which will be live.
2. Live session - a panel discussion featuring key speakers
Key issues arising from the modules are discussed by the expert panel, with the opportunity for Q&A.
3. Live workshop sessions
Delegates can explore specific interest topics with other participants, followed by breakout sessions allowing for detailed discussion.
Who can attend, and what will it cost?
This course is open to members and business partners of The Swedish Club. It is free to Club members and costs USD 1750 for non-members. Unlike previous years, we will welcome multiple delegates from one organisation but book early as numbers will still be limited.
In recognition of the unprecedented challenges faced by the world’s seafarers in the last 12 months, The Swedish Club will donate all fees to a global seafarers’ charity.
