MIC 2024 concludes on a high note: A successful week for the Marine Insurance Course

The Swedish Club recently hosted the Marine Insurance Course (MIC) 2024, which brought together 35 participants from 22 companies across eight countries in Gothenburg for an intensive four-day program. Held from May 13-16, 2024, at the Scandic Hotel Göteborg Central, this year’s course was particularly well received, with participants praising the depth and breadth of topics covered.

The course spanned a comprehensive range of subjects critical to the maritime industry. Sessions included Protection and Indemnity (P&I), Freight, Demurrage, and Defence (FD&D), Hull & Machinery Insurance, Claims Handling, Underwriting, Risk Assessment, Loss Prevention, and Sanctions. Expert presenters from the Club provided in-depth knowledge and practical insights, fostering an environment conducive to learning and professional growth.

One of the highlights of the course was the interactive approach adopted by the presenters, featuring case studies and group discussions. This format facilitated a deeper understanding of complex topics by encouraging active participation and knowledge sharing among attendees. Participants praised the course for its relevance and the practical skills they gained, which can be applied directly to their roles in the maritime industry.

The event culminated in a memorable boat tour of the southern archipelago of Gothenburg, offering a unique blend of relaxation and scenic beauty. This was followed by a dinner at Donsö Isbolaget restaurant, providing an excellent opportunity for networking in a relaxed and picturesque setting.
