Yemen: Port Updates
8 December – The situation in Yemen is affecting trading parties as ports in certain areas in the country are not operational. Aden, Mukalla, Nishtun and Ras Isa Oil Terminal ist open. Hodeidah, Salef, Mokha, Ras Isa Marine terminal (FSO), Ras Isa petroleum products reception facility and Balhaf LNG Terminal is closed.

OSRO coverage in Hawaii – provided directly by MSRC or NRC
22 December – With effect from 1 January 2018, all required OSRO coverage in Hawaii will be provided directly by MSRC or NRC.CIC will no longer offer these services from 31 December 2017.

Protection & Indemnity Insurance 2018/2019The terms for War Risk Insurance 2018
8 December – A General Increase of 0 % is proposed, in addition to changes in Group reinsurance costs. Cargo and Crew deductibles to be increased by USD 1,000 respectively

Freight Demurrage & Defence Insurance 2018/2019
8 December – There will be no general increase of the FD&D premium and members are offered access to a due diligence check database.

Part 2 Protection & Indemnity Insurance 2018/2019
21 December – The Swedish Club provides P&I cover for its members for each and every accident and/or occurrence up to approximately USD 6.0 billion.

7 December – The Swedish Club celebrates 145th birthday
On December 7, 1872 Sveriges Ångfartygs Assurans Förening, The Swedish Club, was offically formed. Cover was confined to Hull & Machinery and War risks and became effective as from January 1, 1873.

12 December – Season’s Greetings 2017

13 December – The shipowners of the small island of Donsö gathered for the traditional Christmas dinner table at Isbolaget, hosted by The Swedish Club.

The Swedish Lucia Dinner brings the Christmas spirit to the Greek shipping community
18 December – Team Piraeus once again opened the festive season to its Members with the traditional Santa Lucia Dinner and the Scandinavian Church girls’ choir, in the welcoming atmosphere of the Yacht Club of Greece.
