P&I additional insurance

Certain operational, contractual or commercial activities may give rise to liabilities that fall outside standard P&I cover. The Swedish Club offers a range of P&I Additional Covers designed to address specific exposures and complement core P&I insurance.

These covers can be arranged individually or combined, allowing Members to tailor protection to their vessel operations, contracts and risk profile.

Provides cover for liabilities arising from deviations from the contractually agreed voyage, including operational or commercial deviations that would otherwise fall outside standard P&I protection.

Extends P&I cover to encompass cargo liabilities assumed under contracts that go beyond standard international cargo liability regimes, such as liabilities outside the Hague or Hague‑Visby Rules.

Provides cover for liabilities arising under contracts that are not automatically covered under standard P&I Rules, including specific operational or commercial agreements entered into by the shipowner.

Extends P&I cover in respect of persons onboard, addressing crew‑related liabilities that exceed standard P&I scope due to contractual terms, employment arrangements or operational circumstances.

Provides protection for liabilities arising from specialist or non‑standard operations that are excluded under standard P&I cover, subject to agreed terms and conditions.

Extends P&I cover for vessels engaged in offshore activities where liabilities fall outside traditional P&I trading and operational parameters.

Provides supplementary P&I protection for specific risks or increased exposure levels, structured to sit alongside core Owners’ P&I cover.
