Legal cost protection for vessel transactions and construction projects
FD&D Sale & Purchase / Newbuilding Insurance provides cover for legal and related costs arising from disputes connected to vessel sale and purchase transactions or newbuilding projects. The cover is designed to protect shipowners against legal exposure at key stages of vessel acquisition, disposal and construction.
Whether disputes arise in connection with contractual terms, performance issues or delivery, this extension provides access to specialist legal support throughout the transaction lifecycle.
Cover includes legal and associated costs arising from
Sale & Purchase agreements
Cover applies from the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement and onwards.
Newbuilding contracts
Cover applies throughout the construction period, including disputes arising during build and delivery.
(The disputed amount itself is excluded)
Coverage limits
Up to USD 300,000 per event
(Higher limits available on request)
Deductibles
As agreed.
Cover is provided in accordance with the Club’s FD&D Rules and agreed terms, and may be arranged as a standalone extension or in combination with other FD&D covers.
