Freight, Demurrage & Defence (FD&D) Insurance provides cover for legal and related costs arising from disputes connected to the operation of a vessel. The cover responds to matters such as charterparty disputes, unpaid freight, demurrage claims and cargo‑related disagreements that fall outside traditional marine insurance.
FD&D is available to shipowners holding P&I insurance and provides access to the Club’s experienced in‑house legal team, supported by selected external experts. The focus is on early involvement, practical case assessment and efficient dispute management.
