Advice, Loss Prevention

Focus: Fumigation

Our Loss Prevention team have focused on the risks when using fumigation. A too quick chemical reaction of the fumigant due to insufficient handling, can cause ignition and explosions.

Together with experts from Burgoynes, The Swedish Club is giving advice on how to handle fumigation in bulk cargo. This is commonly used to prevent insect infestation on agricultural products in bulk.

Read more about the risks and how to avoid them through our case study where a bulk carrier loaded with yellow corn had several explosions due to fumigation.
