AGM 2026 in Gothenburg
Last week, The Swedish Club welcomed Members, partners and colleagues to Gothenburg for AGM 2026.
On Wednesday, the event kicked off with the traditional Mutual Cup. This friendly match brought together Team The Swedish Club and Team International for an afternoon of competition, teamwork and good humour, enjoyed alongside drinks and hot dogs served by colleagues.
At the end, Team International was congratulated on this year’s win, setting the stage for the days ahead, focused on discussions, networking and strengthening relationships across the maritime community.
In the evening, participants gathered for a relaxed dinner for early arrivals, offering an opportunity to reconnect with familiar faces and welcome new ones.
Thursday marked Members’ Day and centred on this year’s theme: When cyber threats meet geopolitics – is shipping prepared. Following opening remarks from CEO Thomas Nordberg and moderator Phil Parry, the programme explored the evolving challenges facing the maritime industry. From ethical hacking and emerging cyber risks to state-sponsored threats and shifting global dynamics, the sessions highlighted the importance of awareness, preparedness and resilience in an increasingly connected world.
A key message throughout the day was the value of collaboration. Sharing data, insights and experiences across organisations was emphasised as essential for stronger decision-making and innovation. Among the speakers, Niels Markussen, Director of the NATO Shipping Centre, emphasised that tackling today’s challenges requires collective effort — no organisation can do it alone.
The day concluded with the AGM dinner, offering a more formal yet welcoming setting to continue conversations and strengthen the relationships built during the sessions.
On Friday, the focus shifted to a more informal setting. Participants had the opportunity to experience Gothenburg and its surroundings, from a visit to the Museum of Gothenburg and a guided walking tour through the city’s history, to a boat trip in the archipelago and lunch at Kusthotellet Styrsö.
We thank everyone who joined us and made this year AGM such a success.
