Please be informed that today came into force the decree 256/2010 issued by the Argentine Government which was published in the Official Bulletin, a free translation of which you will find attached hereto.
As per this decree any vessel trading between Argentina mainland and Islas Malvinas/Falkland Islands or even in transit through Argentine jurisdictional waters to the Islas Malvinas/Falkland Islands, South Georgia and South Sandwich Islands will have to obtain previous and proper authorization from the competent Argentine Authorities.
We assume that in due course proper regulations will be issued by the Authority.
We would draw your attention to the fact that last week, a vessel which arrived in Argentina from Puerto Argentino /Port Stanley was not able to go ahead with her commercial operation (loading) not even, to take bunkers within jurisdictional waters as she was banned by the Argentine Authorities. Furthermore, she also went through a deep PSC inspection which delayed her sailing from Argentina.
