8 April – On 5 April 2019 the US State department advised they have sanctioned two companies operating in the Venezuelan oil sector.

US designate more shipowners for trading with Venezuelan oil
22 April – The Club refer to its Member Alert of 8 April regarding US designation of a non-US shipowner for having been engaged in shipping petroleum products for PDVSA.

Iran – Significant reduction exemptions
23 April – On Sunday 22 April US authorities announced that the United States will not issue any additional Significant Reduction Exceptions (SRE) to existing importers of Iranian oil.

Decrease in piracy reports according to IMB
24 April – There was a clear decrease in incidents of piracy during the first quarter of 2019, compared to the same period last year. This according to the report in International Maritime Bureau’s latest confidential bulletin.

24 April – The United States Coast Guard’s Office of Commercial Vessel Compliance has released its 2018 annual report over US port state controls.

The Swedish Club – continuing to deliver excellence in a challenging market
8 April – At the first quarter 2019 Board meeting, The Swedish Club reported that it had continued to deliver robust underwriting performance and preserve strong capital adequacy in 2018, amid challenging market conditions. A combined ratio of 99% was achieved.

Great Club get-together in Germany
