Hamburg Event Introduces New Swedish Club Area Manager

Peter Stålberg, The Swedish Club’s newly-appointed Area Manager for Germany, was introduced to the Hamburg shipping and broking communities at a well-attended Club event on March 28th. This was an evening seminar on the challenging subject of “Casualty Response and the Media.”

Over 60 guests attended the seminar. They were welcomed by Frans Malmros, The Swedish Club’s Managing Director, who underlined the major significance of Germany for The Swedish Club and emphasised its long-term commitment to this market. He said free reserves now exceed USD 100 million. The Swedish Club is well-positioned for further growth.

Frans Malmros then introduced Peter Stålberg, who recently succeeded Lars Malm as Area Manager of Team Göteborg III, covering Germany, The Netherlands, the Americas and the U.K. Peter Stålberg’s brief is to continue the major expansion of the Club’s business, especially in Northern Europe. Lars Malm, meanwhile, is now Director, Team Management.

During the seminar British consultant Tony Redding, of TRS Public Relations, presented an overview of experience in dealing with major casualties involving many ship types, from crude oil tankers to containerships.
