This yearly event at the Viehhauser Hafen Klub In Hamburg, attract many of our members and brokers in the German market. Our guests are given a topical presentation followed by drinks and food. This year Simon Chumas of Barlow Lyde & Gilbert spoke about a major P&I case in Odessa, which is now subject to arbitration in London. Our members’ vessel was held to ransom following a minor oil spill and The Swedish Club had to provide Bank Guarantees for a substantial amount, to the local authorities, before the vessel was allowed to sail.
