Many  members are facing pressure from charterers in arranging crew change, sign-off and quarantine requirements in connection with COVID-19 pandemic, and Team Asia organised an online workshop to discuss and assist in the following issues:

Operation and commercial teams encounter challenges such as:

1. There are 14 days quarantine requirement in many ports for vessel subsequent to crew exchange in a previous port.
2. A ship may be rejected for fixing next voyage due to ship has crew’s contract over a specific period even the normal contract extension procedures have already fulfilled.   

The Team and member worked closely to clarify the advice on the owner’s position and possibilities to protect the owner’s interests.
